For Immediate Release
Targa Newfoundland would like to congratulate all Tom Hollett Memorial Bambina race teams on their disciplined, professional, and well-executed rally driving during our second annual run.
We are pleased to announce the Overall Winners of the 2018 Targa Bambina – Darren Brake and Angela Gill of KSAB Racing, Corner Brook. Darren and Angela had the highest rank in their Modern All-Wheel Drive class and will now have a free entry into Targa Newfoundland 2019. Congratulations to the overall victors!
A quote from Darren and Angela:
‘2018 Tom Hollett Memorial Targa Bambina was an incredible experience and it is quite a thrill to win our first event. We would like to thank the Targa NL volunteers and communities for their support and also mention our sponsors: Jungle Jim’s, Castle Carpet, Maple Leaf Homes, Harris & Roome, EMCO Waterworks, and Abe’s Mobile Welding. Especially the performance tires from Corner Brook Tire and the brakes and safety equipment from Speedy Automotive. We couldn’t have done it without their advice.’
Targa Newfoundland would also like to congratulate all other individual class leaders and winners:
Daniel Aylward / Jeff Gorich, Andrew Warren / Jason Nolan, Justin Crant / Erin Crant
Thank you again to all the volunteers, communities, and others who make the Tom Hollett Memorial Bambina possible. We very much appreciate it and hope to see you again next year.
For now, see you all in September… Targa Newfoundland 2018 is just four short weeks away!
Owned and operated by Newfoundland International Motorsports Limited, Targa Newfoundland is one of three internationally recognized Targa motorsports events in the world. The 2018 competition will start in St. John’s on September 15th and concludes back in the capital on September 22nd. The annual rally will cover more than 1,600 kilometers of the challenging, twisty roads of the central and eastern portion of Newfoundland, including over 440 kilometers of closed-road, flat-out Targa stages.
Bambina Newfoundland gives the opportunity for people with an interest in motorsports to try their hand at stage rallying, without having to commit to the time and effort that the full Targa would involve. This mini version of the internationally acclaimed competition will be held from June 28th – July 1st, 2019 and will consist of three days of competition, offering 16 competitive stages on the lower Burin Peninsula. Entry for this event is a fraction of the cost of the Targa, and the overall winner will gain free admission to Targa’s 18th annual event in September 2019.
