NEWS RELEASE                                                            MAY 11, 2017

Be a part of history!

The Tom Hollett Memorial Targa Bambina event launches on the Burin Peninsula in just six weeks!

What a great way to kick off Canada Day weekend, with a first of its kind event in one of the most scenic areas in Newfoundland! We hope the Bambina will be the go-to event for Newfoundlanders and visitors alike for the holiday weekend, and mark the unofficial kick off to summer.

With stages set for Burin, Garnish, Frenchman’s Cove, Spanish Room, Rock Harbour, Jean-de-Baie, Parkers Cove and Rushoon, the Targa team is pleased to be a part of such a great event in memory of one of our former supporters from the area, the late Tom Hollett.

Competitors will be coming from all over Newfoundland, with some participants travelling from the mainland to take part beginning June 30th and running until July 3rd.

In order to make this event a success, we will require support and involvement from communities, individuals and our team here at Targa.

The bigger the success, the greater boost to the economy of the Southern Burin Peninsula.

For this to happen, we require many local volunteers to work along side our team during the event. We will provide training for each role, and all Safety Marshalls, Stage Sector Captains and Deputy Stage Sector Captains will be fully aware of all safety procedures.

Join us in making the Tom Hollett Memorial Targa Bambina a real success.

If you or your whole family wish to take part in the event as a volunteer or sponsor, please reach out to President of Targa Newfoundland Robert Giannou at:

Owned and operated by Newfoundland International Motorsports Limited, the Tom Hollett Memorial Targa Bambina rally covers more than 300 kilometers of the challenging, twisty road of the lower Burin Peninsula. The 2017 competition will start in Burin on June 30th and concludes in Swift Current on July 3rd.  With more than 15 closed-road Targa Bambina stages, the lower Burin Peninsula will become the motorsports centre of Newfoundland during Canada Day weekend.
